SW series model comparison

Pick the right model for your wire diameter. SW-1 to SW-5 run on single-phase 220 V, SW-6 to SW-9 on two-phase 380 V.

All models run at 50 Hz. Contact us to choose the right model for stainless and alloy wire.

How It Works

A joint that holds, in seconds

In resistance butt welding the wire ends are pressed together between copper jaws while a high current flows through them. The resistance at the contact point heats it to a glow in seconds, and the two ends become one piece.

01

Clean & Clamp

The wire ends are cleaned on the machine’s motor grinder, aligned and placed in the copper jaws, then clamped with the toggle clamps. Correct alignment is the key to a strong weld.

02

Select & Weld

Choose the step for your wire diameter and press start. The isolated transformer drops the voltage to 1–5 V; the high current brings the ends to a glow while the spring-loaded jaw presses them together. No filler wire or gas needed.

03

Cool & Anneal

The current switches off automatically when the weld is done. The wire cools in the jaws for a moment; if needed, the weld zone is annealed to remove brittleness.

04

Grind

The cooled wire is taken out and the burr is ground off on the motor grinder, leaving a smooth surface that passes through the die without snagging.

Weldable materials

  • Carbon alloy steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Brass
  • Phosphor bronze

Round, square, rectangular, flat wire and tube profiles.

Not suitable

  • Plastic, rubber, wood
  • Cast iron
  • Lead

Non-conductive materials cannot be welded; cast iron turns doughy during welding.
